Our Little Flamingo

Sycely had her very first ballet performance this weekend. She was in the Flamingo Family Ballet number and her group was really super cute. They had a dress rehearsal on Saturday morning, bright and early, but she was really excited to get to be on the real “big stage” that it was no problem getting her up early. She hung out with her buddy Angela (she also goes to our church) and had a great rehearsal. She performed the whole dance and was totally adorable doing it. I just hoped it’d go the same on Sunday with hundreds of people in the audience.

Sunday was no different. We got there early, got Sycely lined up with her “flock” and with tears in my eyes I told her I was so proud to be her Mommy and told her to do a good job and have fun. She left a lipstick kiss on my cheek as I left- and I didn’t wipe it off either.

Their performance was adorable and with their pink/peach/orange costumes and the stage lights they looked just like little flapping flamingos. She did a great job, and more importantly, had fun. And she was tickled pink (pun intended!) to get flowers from her Daddy after her big debut.
