Our flights to San Diego went quite smoothly. Ella was able to nap fairly easily and we didn't struggle too much with keeping either of the girls occupied. Aunti Eris arrived in San Diego before we did so she was waiting at the airport when we got there. Lem picked up the car while I gathered our luggage, etc and we hit the road. We found our way (after a few semi-amusing detours and one VERY small parking lot-if you can call it that) to our little beach house Casa Sofia and got everyone settled in for the night.
The Girls on the Plane
Our first morning in San Diego started bright and early with Sycely calling to us from her room, “Someone…I just noticed the sun comed up.” Apparently she’s so used to it still being dark when she gets up in the morning that she thought she’d slept half the day away. It was just after 6:30am! So we got everyone showered, dressed and ready for a fun-filled day at Sea World.Ready for a day at Sea World
We saw the world famous Shamu show “Believe.” It was pretty spectacular and amazingly choreographed. Sycely did her usual stunned silence through the whole production. The beauty and force of those astounding animals is simply amazing.
After Shamu we took in the rest of the park, had some lunch and rode some rides in the newly added Elmo themed kids’ area.
Sea World highlights included: the Shamu show, flamingoes, petting “happy little rays;” dolphins and starfish, the deep sea octopus, and for Sycely, her favorite was, of course the penguins. We got Aunti Eris back to the house for a nap and we headed out for some dinner at Red Lobster-one of Lem’s faves.
